STAGE 2 · STARTING A COURT CLAIM

Turn the Dispute Into a Clear, Organised Claim

If pre-action correspondence has not resolved the dispute and you decide to issue a claim, the court needs a concise explanation of who owes what, what happened and why payment is sought. We help organise your information and prepare clear draft wording for you to review and file.

UNDERSTAND THE STAGE

What Happens When a Claim Is Issued?

Issuing a claim formally begins the court process. The claimant must identify the correct defendant, state the amount sought and explain the factual basis of the claim.

This is not the place to include every message or disagreement. The claim should present the essential facts in a logical order and make the remedy requested understandable.

You remain responsible for deciding whether to issue, checking all information, paying the court fee and submitting the claim.

HOW WE CAN HELP

Prepare the Essential Claim Information

Build the Chronology

We organise the relevant agreement, work, payment history and attempts to resolve the dispute into a clear sequence.

Explain the Amount

We help present the amount sought as an understandable breakdown based on the figures you provide.

Prepare the Wording

We prepare draft claim wording or Particulars of Claim for your review, with one reasonable amendment.

CLEAR SERVICE BOUNDARIES

You Decide Whether to Issue the Claim

Tradesmen Dispute Direct is not a law firm and does not provide legal advice, solicitor representation or an assessment of whether you should bring a claim.

We do not issue or file the claim, pay court fees, serve documents, communicate with the court or attend a hearing. You must verify all names, dates and figures and comply with the court’s rules and deadlines.

The service is designed principally for property-repair and maintenance disputes in England and Wales valued below £10,000.
