OUR STORY

Built from more than a decade inside property maintenance

Tradesmen Dispute Direct grew out of first-hand experience running a high-volume London property-maintenance business and seeing the same contract disputes arise again and again.

When you deal with hundreds of jobs every week, you quickly learn which facts matter in a dispute — and which arguments only make it longer.

10+ YEARS

Real-world property-maintenance experience

~200 JOBS

Handled each week at scale

1 CONTRACT

Every job assessed on its own facts

WHERE IT STARTED

More than 10 years of real-world property contracts

For more than 10 years, I ran a large property-maintenance company in London, carrying out work particularly for letting agents and managing agents. At scale, the business was handling around 200 jobs a week. Each job was effectively its own contract — with its own scope, price, instructions, variations, evidence and potential for disagreement.

The detail matters

An instruction, quotation, variation, invoice, photograph or message can become important as soon as a disagreement develops.

THE PATTERN

The same disputes kept appearing

Different properties, customers and trades — but the disputes were often remarkably similar.

  • Unpaid or partly paid invoices
  • Arguments about extras and variations
  • Complaints about workmanship or alleged defects
  • Delays and incomplete work
  • Disagreement about what was actually agreed
  • Damage allegations
  • Long email or WhatsApp arguments that obscure the real issues
WHAT BECAME CLEAR

Most small disputes turn on a few practical questions

The correspondence may be long, but the issues are usually much narrower.

  • What was agreed?
  • What work was carried out?
  • What was charged and paid?
  • What changed along the way?
  • What evidence supports each side?
  • What needs to happen next?
WHY I STARTED TDD

A more focused way to handle property-repair disputes

Tradesmen Dispute Direct brings practical experience to residential repair, maintenance, refurbishment and renovation disputes.

01

Identify the issue

Start with what was agreed, what changed, what was done and what remains disputed.

02

Focus the evidence

Organise quotations, invoices, messages, photographs and payment records around the real issues.

03

Strip away noise

Bring emotional correspondence and side issues back to the facts that actually matter.

04

Keep costs predictable

Use fixed-price stages so you can choose the support needed one step at a time.

WHAT TDD IS

Practical support built around the property-maintenance world

Our experience is practical rather than theoretical. TDD is designed around the documents, communications and disagreements that arise between tradesmen, contractors, subcontractors, property owners, landlords, managing agents and others involved in qualifying residential repair work.

We help customers organise facts and evidence, prepare documents and understand the practical next stage while they remain in control of their own case.

IMPORTANT BOUNDARY

We are not a law firm

Tradesmen Dispute Direct is not a solicitor practice and does not act as your solicitor or court representative. We do not conduct litigation for you, attend court, provide advocacy or guarantee outcomes. You remain responsible for decisions, checking documents, sending correspondence and filing court documents.
